The
Arizona
Sun
Chasers (ASC) is a club that does not discriminate based on
the person or bike. We do make sure one fits our style of
riding
and our brethren. We
welcome all brands and types of motorcycles, and we have both men
and women riders. We are made up of
diverse
types of motorcycles and riders. Some of our riders have just joined
us in riding bikes, while some of us rode before we were old
enough
to legally get a license. Our club came into existance in 1977 when
a few good friends wanted to have organized rides but did
not
fit
into any of the existing clubs. We have been referred to as the Ma
& Pa club in the ACMC, and our average age at 52, it does fit.
We do
have
a loose organization with officers, ride committee, and volunteers
for special projects. We are always looking for those that do
not
fit
into the other clubs and organizationsw within the ACMC, but do meet
the necessary qualifications to join us. We are trying to
grow
large
enough club to be able to run our own poker runs.
The
ASC is a qualified non-profit organization that holds fund-raising
throughout the year. The past two years we have chosen to donate
our
efforts and funds towards Christmas Families. In the past, we
donated at toy runs and the Pediatric Brain Tumor runs.
We
have members that reside in Maricopa, Apache Junction, Cave Creek,
and western Phoenix. A few of our members have summer
residences
in Oregon and Minnesota, Several of our members have qualified for
membership in the Iron Butt Association with their one
day
rides of over a thousand miles. Some over 1500 miles in less the 24
hours. Most of our rides though are less aggressive to
different
points
or runs within the state. We have done rides to Alpine,
Tombstone, Williams, Springerville and points beyond. We have had
club
rides
to Sturgis, Laughlin, camping and just out for dinner.
We
have experienced ride captains that can lead any experience
level.
The
ASC is a member of the Arizona Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs
(ACMC), and attends community events that are sponsored
by
members of
this organization.
